Ways to Connect

Any student grades 6 – 12 is invited to join us for a time to eat, play games, share in a devotional, and catch up with everyone. Feel free to invite your friends!

Here’s what to expect at upcoming Youth Groups:

• April 7 | (Belated) Easter Egg Hunt
• April 14 | Electives Night
• April 21 | The Chosen Watch Party
• April 28 | Donut Night
• May 5 | Park Day (@ James E. Short Park)
• May 12 | NO YOUTH GROUP
• May 19 | Senior Night (Last Youth Group of the year)

Students who desire to grow closer to others and God are encouraged to join a life group. Here, we dive deeper into the Bible in community with a fuse Leader to learn more than what we possibly could on our own. Students are invited to meet at 10:00 AM in the fusebox then break into separate groups from there. Leaders will connect with their students on their specific meeting room. Here are our current life groups:

• Middle School Girls Group: Any girl in 6th – 8th grade is invited to be a part of this group, which is led by Sue Johnson and Missy Lundy.
• Middle School Boys Group: Any boy in 6th-8th grade is invited to be a part of this group, which is led by Chad Bower, Mike Lundy and Ken Durrwachter.
• High School Girls Group: Any girl in 9th – 12th grade is invited to be a part of this group, which is led by Payton Robbins and Nicole Bower.
• High School Boys Group: Any boy in 9th-12th grade is invited to be a part of this group, which is led by Caleb Robbins and Bryce Berresford.

FaithZone is a monthly outreach event where middle school students receive a meal and devotional during their lunch period at school. Alongside classes that grow physical, mental and emotional health, this is an opportunity for students to consider their spiritual growth.

Upcoming Events

Confirmation is an exciting opportunity for students to build a foundation for Christian faith, understand the basic beliefs, and explore where they are at in their own faith. By the end of Confirmation, students will become members of First Church and will be able to clearly articulate why they choose to follow Jesus. Any student in grades 6 – 12 who is interested in taking this step in their spiritual walk is invited consider joining the next course, beginning in November 2024.

Be sure to mark your calendars for these upcoming summer events:

• Senior Day | May 19
  • We’ll be honoring our high school senior graduates during our worship services with prayer and a sendoff. Following the Contemporary Service, we will travel to Jacoby Falls to spend the day together, so be sure to bring a swimsuit and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. The day will end a dinner at the Lundy home.
• Vacation Bible School | June 24 – 28, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | If you are interested in volunteering at VBS, click here.
  • Donut Day on June 25
  • Hana Lunch on June 27
• Pool Party | June 26, July 10, July 24 from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM | Take a break from the summer activities and the summer heat. For more details, reach out to Caroline.
• TRANSFORM: fuse Edition | August 5 – 7 | (CLC) Stryker Hall [601 Market St] | Our youth are invited to a special edition of TRANSFORM specifically for them! They’ll be serving together on specific projects during the day, then fun activities in the evening like worship, a pool party, games, and dinner. Stay tuned for more details.
