Disciple's Journey

We seek to create disciples in our context committed to the vision of transformation in Christ.  This means living into a dual expression of church that includes both Gathered and Sent communities.

We invite you to connect with God’s people here at First Church through Step 1. If you wonder what connecting in faith in Jesus Christ is about or if you wish to connect as a new member, then Step 1 is for you.

The next Step 1 class will be five sessions on Sunday mornings, on January 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (during our Social Hour).

There are two ways to attend this course: in person in Room 202 in our First Evangelical Center building, led by Michelle Dixon, and online via ZOOM.

If you wish to join this course, please fill out the form below.

If you have taken Step 1 and are considering your next step in discipleship, we invite you to take Step 2. Here, people begin to discover God’s call on their life so they might have a fuller understanding of that call and begin practicing multiplying discipleship more intentionally in the day to day life and in the context of God’s church.

The next Step 2 class will be six sessions on Mondays from 7:00-9:00 PM in the (FEC) fusebox (located at 604 Market St). The specific dates are to be determined.

If you have taken Steps 1 and 2 and want to go deeper in your discipleship journey, we invite you to take Step 3. This group focuses on sending people who fully embrace God’s call on their life. These folks are committed to doing; they have the capacity to live into multiplying discipleship by sharing in the lives of others and influencing others beyond themselves.

The next Step 3 class will be nine sessions on Mondays, beginning January 15, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in the fusebox in the FEC (located at 604 Market St).

If you have taken Steps 1, 2, and 3, we invite you to fully live into your call as a disciple of Jesus Christ on a path of apprenticeship with a mentor. In this step, you will partner with a staff member to be released and commissioned to influence transformational movement in the kingdom of God.

Step 4 is an apprenticeship-style class requires the completion of Steps 1, 2, and 3, and an invitation by the Lead Pastor.
